Summer Developmental League

The purpose of the NMYSA’s Summer Developmental League (SDL) is to provide an opportunity for players, teams, coaches, referees and parents to gain experience in the 7 vs 7 game.  While games will be played each match date, the overall objective of the SDL will be to offer developmental opportunities prior to the fall season.

About the Summer Developmental League:

  • The SDL is designed for boys and girls going into the 9-Under and the 10-Under age groups (Born in 2009 and 2008).   Separate divisions will be formed for Boys teams and for Girls teams.  All games will be 7 vs 7 (6 + GK) and teams will be matched appropriately for games.
  • Match dates will be on Saturdays - June 17 & 24 and July 8, 15 & 22 (no games July 1).  All games will be scheduled between 9:00am and 11:30am at the Bernalillo Soccer Complex.
  • On each match date, each team will be scheduled 2 mini-games (15-minute halves).  Ideally, a team will play a game, rest a game and play another game.
  • Involved in the SDL will be coach education opportunities, parent engagement information and a referee development program.
