With the increased emphasis on concussion awareness in sports, NMYSA is pleased to announce that we are developing a concussion education platform for players, coaches and parents using the Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) "Heads Up" Concussion in Youth Sports program.
For the 2014-2015 soccer season, we will begin distributing to your local leagues and clubs, the "Heads Up" fact sheets for parents, athletes and coaches. In addition, we will get the word out and encourage all soccer coaches to take the CDC’s online concussion training course. This simple online course is loaded with valuable information and direction for managing suspected concussions. We hope that you will take the time to review the "Heads Up" fact sheet and help to make youth soccer a safer environment for our children.
