New Mexico Youth Soccer Association (NMYSA) subscribes to the US Youth Soccer KidSafe Program. NMYSA collects specific information about youth players in order to conduct its youth soccer business of registering players; assigning them to teams; and authorizing participation in sanctioned tournaments, festivals and training activities. This information includes (but may not be limited to) legal name, address, phone, e-mail, birth date, gender, and parent/guardian contact information.

The information collected by our registrars (entered into the secure server of the LeagueOne player registration application), through direct web site registration (by parents/guardians or players through the ClubReg application), or through the e-ODP portal (by players and/or parents/guardians) is only used to enable the youth players to be properly registered and authorized to participate in age-specific youth soccer activities and to facilitate coach and administrator contact with players within their assigned area of responsibility.

Personally Identifiable Information (PII) about NMYSA registered players is maintained on a secure server and is compartmentalized. Access by coaches and administrators to electronic forms of PII concerning players is by username- and password-protected accounts. These accounts only allow access to information within the authorized user’s area of responsibility. For example, the Registrar of a Club has access to data for all players registered within that Club, but not to players registered to different Clubs. Prior to being granted access to personal information, the individual must read and sign the NMYSA Standards of Ethical Conduct policy concerning appropriate use and protection of personal information in its various forms, which includes penalties for inappropriate use.

Selected PII is required in order to register players. All NMYSA youth soccer programs are age-specific and require legal name, birth date and gender information. Contact with players for team assignments, practice schedules, games and tournaments/festivals requires address, phone, and/or e-mail information. Parent/guardian contact information is necessary in case of emergencies. Failure to provide this information will prevent the player being registered.

No PII concerning registered minor players is ever released to or sold to marketers. Applicable information is only released to authorized individuals for registration, rostering, and tournament/festival play and training.

If you have any questions or concerns about NMYSA’s PII protection policies or usage or NMYSA’s privacy policy, please contact the NMYSA Risk Manager, Rennae Ross; the NMYSA Executive Director / Registrar, Gloria Faber; (505) 830-2245, or the NMYSA Webmaster, Bill Flor.
