2009 ODP Regional Camp holdovers
![]() |
In late June and throughout the month of July, New Mexico ODP players traveled to Region IV ODP Camp with hopes of being selected to the regional pool. The girls’ camp was held in Moscow, Idaho, at the University of Idaho and the boys’ camp was held in McMinnville, Oregon, at Linfield College. Each day teams trained with a regional staff coach and played against other state associations’ ODP teams, while at night individual players from each team were selected to participate in identification games. Throughout the week the regional team head coach and their assistants were able to evaluate and select individual players to be a part of the regional pool. Players who were selected to the regional pool, with the exception of the ’96 girls, were “held over” a further 3-4 more days at camp to participate in training and games with the other selected regional pool players. |
We are proud to announce the 2009 Regional Camp holdovers from New Mexico. The following players were selected by regional staff to participate with their respective age group regional pools. This honor has given each of them a chance to represent New Mexico in national and international events!

95 Boys: Isaias Juarez, Ben Spencer Jr., & Jose “Alex” Vasquez

The ODP Cycle begins again this month with tryouts/playing opportunities for the 2009/10 program across the state. Please see the schedule below for details about opportunities in your area. For the 2009-10 seasonal year, the New Mexico ODP Program includes players born in calendar years '93-'97 and the YOP Program includes players born in calendar year '98
Playing Opportunities are the first step in the ODP process. They are a way for players to make the ODP or YOP pool for their respective age group. At a playing opportunity, players participate in a small amount of training with the ODP staff coaches and then play small- and/or full-sided games. During this process, the ODP staff coaches evaluate the players and recommend those they feel should be invited to join the ODP or YOP pool. There is no cost to attend any playing opportunity. For more detailed information on the program and how to get involved please visit the ODP page.
Players should register to participate in the program through the e-ODP system (players who enrolled in e-ODP last year do not have to enroll again and can continue to use their current password to sign in and register for events).
