Training & Identification Opportunities (TIOs)
The last Training and Identification Opportunity (TIO) of the 2010-11 season was held Oct 24th. Thanks to all those players who participated in the TIOs at the various locations around the state. ODP Pools Invitations will be posted the first week of November 2010.
Training & Identification Opportunities (TIOs) are the first step in the ODP process. They are training sessions free of charge for players to receive instruction from ODP head, assistant and staff coaches, and a way for players to make the ODP or YOP pool for their respective age group. At a TIO players participate in training sessions and then play small- and/or full-sided games. During this process the ODP coaches provide instruction and evaluate the players and recommend those they feel should be invited to join the ODP or YOP pool.
For the 2010/2011 ODP cycle we will be visiting 11 locations providing TIOs for players born from 1999-1994. All players born in 1999 are eligible for YOP this year, while players born in 1998, 1997, 1996, 1995 or 1994 are all eligible to make their respective player pools for ODP. The locations we are visiting this cycle are El Paso, Gallup, Farmington, Hobbs, Albuquerque, Alamogordo, Clovis, Santa Fe, Taos, Las Cruces and Roswell. Please visit our ODP web page for information on when the ODP staff will run a TIO in your area.
