New NB3 Soccer League to Begin Fall 2011!

The Notah Begay III Foundation has announced the creation of a new soccer league to begin this fall for kids ages 5-10, the NB3SL. Following the best practices for player development of the U.S. Youth Soccer Association, the league will operate with an ‘academy style’ approach. Instead of competing on teams, players will sign up individually and will be mixed within their age group each week and participate in small-sided games for approximately one hour. Game formats per age group are:

     U6: 3v3
     U8: 4v4
     U10: 6v6 (5v5 + GK)

All games will take place at the new state of the art soccer field located at the San Felipe Pueblo, located just 10 miles north of Bernalillo, NM. The league will be played on Saturdays beginning September 10th and ending October 29th.

Founded by Notah Begay III, a PGA Tour professional, the mission of the NB3 Foundation is to reduce the incidences of obesity and diabetes and advance the lives of Native American youth through sports and wellness programming. The foundation utilizes programming in soccer and golf to achieve their mission.

For more information about the NB3SL please call the NB3 Foundation at 505-867-0775. Participation is open to both native and non-native youth.

Goal of the NB3 Soccer League: To provide the best possible atmosphere for kids to enjoy learning the game while emphasizing player development. We are integrating proven strategies from around the world to encourage long-term participation and player development!
